C.T.plage items are particular about the materials they are made from.
In this issue, we would like to introduce the materials that we are particular about.
In this first issue, we will introduce the material of raccoon.
C.T.plage materials are environmentally friendly
Manufactured in an ICCAW certified yarn mill
(The material is made by a manufacturer that has obtained ICCAW certification, which is both animal and environmentally friendly)
The dyes used are environmentally friendly, having passed the testing standards of Reach Annex 17.
This is a very light and warm material obtained by brushing raccoon hair.
Since only a limited amount of this precious material can be obtained, we arrange and produce the proper amount at least one year in advance every year.
About texture
Camel is the color of the raw wool in raccoon.
In the dyeing process, colors lighter than the original wool are bleached before the cotton is dyed, resulting in a texture with less fluff. Therefore, the feel and texture of darker colors are different from lighter colors because darker colors have more fluff.
Black and black navy use more dye than other colors, resulting in a firmer texture.
Colors lighter than the raw wool, such as light gray, are less firm and have less pile than black and black-navy.
At C.T.plage, we are particular about texture,
We dye from cotton, which gives a better texture than yarn dyeing.
Production Process
Ridge knitting is thicker than plain jersey knitting.
Tenjiku knitting
ridge knitting
Because the yarn is soft and weak, we have thickened the knitted fabric toward the cuffs to prevent fraying at the elbow and below the elbow.
We have been making small improvements to this item since it was first released to ensure that it will be used for a long time.
Anti-static treatment prevents static electricity from occurring even when layered.
Care for long-lasting use
Brushing the sweater after wearing will also help prevent furballs from forming!
Just like human hair, brush care is important!
The cause of product shrinkage is a protein scale structure called scale, which expands and spreads when it absorbs moisture.
When the scales are spread out, they easily become tangled, and when they are rubbed, they become even more tangled and hard.
This is called felting and is the cause of shrinkage.
Therefore, use a neutral detergent and fabric softener to prevent shrinkage.
When washing animal hair blends, please wash in lukewarm water at about 20°C (68°F) and avoid cold water.
Cleaning and care at the end of the season will prevent holes from opening and stains from forming, thus prolonging the life of the garment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Too much hair will fall out and get on my clothes.
A. The hair is so long that it stands out when it gets on clothes. We recommend wearing clothes of the same color, or wearing down or lightweight materials.
Q. I am concerned about the smell of the product.
A. Raccoon fat oxidizes and causes an odor.
The smell will neutralize and gradually fade away if the garment is washed in a medium detergent.
